Quick time event is a method of context-sensitive gameplay in which the player performs actions on the control device shortly after the appearance of an on-screen instruction/prompt.

In basic Agony, there is only one to occur, when Nimrod gets attacked by the Spiders. In Agony UNRATED, more QTEs are introduced, such as when the bag-wearing martyr (both Madmen and Damned Women) attacks Nimrod after pulling their bag mask off, and confronting some demons (such as the Onoskelis) in the Succubus Mode. When this happens, quickly move the mouse sideways to get out of their grip. Otherwise, immediate death will occur.
